The main difference between CNC machining route design and general machine tool processing route design is that it often does not refer to the entire process from blank to finished product, but only a detailed description of several CNC machining process. Therefore, it must be noted in the design of the process route that since the numerical control machining process is generally interspersed in the entire process of the part processing, it is well connected with other processing processes.

The following problems should be noted in the design of CNC machining process routes:
1. Division of processes
According to the characteristics of CNC machining, the division of CNC machining processes can generally be carried out according to the following methods: (1) One installation and processing are used as one process. This method is suitable for processing parts with less content and can be inspected after processing. (2) The process of dividing the contents of the same tool processing. Although some parts can process many surfaces to be processed in one installation, considering the program is too long, there are certain restrictions, such as the limitation of the control system (mainly the memory capacity), and the limitation of the continuous working time of the machine (such as a process). Can't end in a work class). In addition, too long a program can increase the difficulty of errors and retrieval. Therefore, the program should not be too long, and the content of one process cannot be too much. (3) The process of dividing the processing part. For workpieces with a lot of processing content, the processing part can be divided into several parts according to its structural characteristics, such as inner cavity, shape, curved surface or plane, and the processing of each part is taken as a process. (4) Divide the process by roughing and finishing. For workpieces that are prone to deformation after processing, the deformation that may occur after roughing needs to be corrected. Generally, the process must be separated for the process of roughing and finishing.
 
2, the sequence of arrangements
The sequence should be based on the structure of the part and the condition of the blank, as well as the need for positioning, installation and clamping. The sequence arrangement should generally be carried out according to the following principles: (1) The processing of the previous process cannot affect the positioning and clamping of the next process, and the intermediate machining process should be considered in the middle; (2) The internal cavity machining is performed first. After the shape processing; (3) the same positioning, clamping method or the same tool processing, preferably continuous processing to reduce the number of repeated positioning, the number of tool changes and the number of moving plate;
 
3. The connection between CNC machining process and common process
Before and after the NC machining process, other common machining processes are usually interspersed. If the connection is not good, it is easy to cause conflicts. Therefore, while familiarizing with the entire processing technology, it is necessary to understand the technical requirements, processing purposes, and processing characteristics of the NC machining process and the common machining process, such as whether to leave the machining allowance and how much to keep; the accuracy requirements and shape of the positioning surface and the hole. Position tolerance; technical requirements for the calibration process; heat treatment status of the blank, etc., so that each process can meet the processing needs of each other, and the quality objectives and technical requirements are clear, and the acceptance is based on acceptance.
